Eastern Excavating Co. is seeking a full time Project Engineer. The company offers a family atmosphere and is established in the Savannah, GA area for 35+ years. Our self-performed services include clearing, demo, grading, asphalt, concrete, underground utilities, and hardscapes for commercial and industrial projects. All work is local to Savannah, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and interpret CAD files for building surveys and site plans.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for estimating purposes.
• Assist in civil construction project planning, including dirt work, concrete, utilities, and asphalt.
• Support project managers with scheduling, procurement, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of relevant experience in civil construction or site development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D is a plus).
• Strong skills in takeoffs and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Position is approximately 50% office and 50% outdoors on jobsites

Opportunity to advance to project manager

Must currently live within commuting distance or being willing to relocate to the Savannah, GA area
