Continuous Improvement Engineer

Are you passionate about transforming operations and eliminating waste? Assurant's Value-Added Services (VAS) team is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead lean transformation initiatives across two dynamic facilities. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance in our remanufacturing lines.

This is an onsite role in our Lewisville TX office, with domestic travel up to 40%.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead Lean Initiatives: Drive kaizen events and continuous improvement projects focused on remanufacturing processes
  • Champion Lean Culture: Identify and mentor change agents across the organization to build a culture of operational excellence
  • Map and Improve Processes: Use value stream mapping to uncover inefficiencies and design future-state workflows
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with leadership to align kaizen priorities with organizational strategy
  • Support NPI & Workstation Design: Collaborate on new product introduction and ergonomic workstation setups
  • Analyze & Model Operations: Conduct time studies, MOST modeling, and headcount analysis using TAKT time and yield data
  • Innovate Manufacturing Methods: Evaluate and implement modern processing techniques, balancing innovation and automation
  • Design Lean Layouts: Create visual factory layouts and present work-driven task analyses
  • Educate & Inspire: Facilitate lean simulations and contribute to building a future facility Dojo

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field with a focus on Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence
  • 5+ years in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement roles
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills & proficiency in MS Office Suite and Project
  • Statistical analysis (Minitab preferred)
  • AutoCAD (2D for layout design)
  • Six Sigma training (Green Belt or higher preferred)
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Strategic thinker with analytical mindset
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environments
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Collaborative and self-driven

Helpful Skills/Experience

  • Experience with consumer electronics, especially mobile devices
  • Lean transformations in manufacturing
  • Operational Excellence programs
  • Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen facilitation

Pay Range: $72,900.00 - $121,900.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
