The Process Controls Engineer will report to the Process Engineering Manager and play a key role in managing and optimizing the Process Control Network within a chemical manufacturing facility. This position is essential to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations through strategic improvements, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day operations of the Process Control Network to ensure high performance and reliability.
Partner with the Instrumentation Specialist to implement automation and instrumentation improvements.
Design and implement control strategies to boost production efficiency and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with process engineers, operations, and maintenance teams to resolve control system issues.
Maintain accurate and current control system documentation, including P&IDs and operating procedures.
Coordinate and manage software updates and control system upgrades with IT and engineering.
Monitor process data trends to identify and act on opportunities for improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Lead controls and instrumentation aspects of capital projects from planning through execution.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in process controls and automation in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with PLC systems—configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and support
