Corporate Engineer

WEHCO Video, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Corporate Engineer within its engineering team. This role falls under the Engineering department, reporting directly to the Vice President of Engineering. The position is classified as exempt, and the compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
This position, which reports to the VP of Engineering, requires expertise in the construction and technical operations of both aerial and underground HFC and FTTH plants, as well as cable television systems. Key responsibilities include maintaining and upgrading physical plant and processing equipment for video, internet, voice, and EAS services. The role also involves assisting with storm damage and emergency repairs, with travel to company locations expected 2-3 days per week.
Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills and consistently meet company standards of appearance and behavior. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required, alongside a comprehensive understanding of DOCSIS, FTTH PON, IP, and fiber construction. Knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA rules is essential, as is the ability to splice fiber optic cables and manage record-keeping effectively.
Education requirements include a minimum of a High School diploma or GED, with five years of training in cable TV technology preferred. Experience in cable TV technology, troubleshooting, and construction, particularly in HFC and FTTH, is advantageous. Candidates should be familiar with safety equipment and various technical tools needed for the role.
