US Defense Cyber Engineer
Sterling Heights, MI | 100% Onsite | Open-Ended Contract | 9/80 Schedule | $40-$70/hr based on years of relevant experience and education level
Position Summary:
Support the Cyber and C5ISR section in cyber architecture, compliance, evaluation, and technology integration for Ground Combat Platforms. Act as an engineering leader coordinating with system engineers, program teams, and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead/support Cyber integration across vehicle systems
Develop system requirements, specifications, and verification plans
Guide cyber-physical design best practices and tools
Conduct trade studies, root cause analysis, and system troubleshooting
Oversee technical documentation, compliance, and milestone reviews
Evaluate and implement emerging Cyber/C5ISR technologies
Coordinate with design and interface teams
Ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-37, 800-53; prepare SSPs and POA&Ms
Qualifications: Bachelor's in Engineering or related field (certifications considered)
1-10 years of relevant experience
Background in embedded systems, military vehicles, or automotive Cyber
Familiarity with TARA, CTTX drills, Cross-Domain Solutions
Experience leading technical development teams
Strong understanding of cyber warfare, embedded systems, and system security
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; up to 15% travel required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US security clearance
This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
