Data Engineer Opportunity Amazon's Devices Economic Value team enables the measurement and optimization of Amazon Devices long-term value to help Amazon build better products for their customers. The team is at the core of understanding how Amazon Devices drive deeper customer engagement and helps the business make decisions about how to optimize and balance between short term monetization and long term value creation for Amazon Device users. We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to build the future of long-term Marketing Measurement for Devices and Services to help the business optimize how it spends its marketing budgets across programs. Key responsibilities include designing, building and maintaining complex data solutions for Amazon Devices' new Marketing Mix Models. The Data Engineer will evolve the MMM data infrastructure with a focus on scalable, maintainable and efficient solutions. The Data Engineer will also: Actively participate in the code review process, design discussions, planning and operational excellence Make appropriate tradeoffs, re-use when possible and judiciously introduce dependencies Know recent advances in distributed systems Ask correct questions when data model and requirements are not well defined and come up with scalable, maintainable, and efficient designs Make enhancements that improve team's data architecture, making it better and easier to maintain Own the data quality of important datasets and any new changes/enhancements About the team: DEV Science team's mission is to drive measurement and optimization of long term economic value of the devices business that balances short term and long term tradeoffs across product lifecycle, and drive clear value for Amazon shoppers. We leverage science advancements across causal inference, structural modeling and machine learning, to solve challenging business problems in Amazon Devices. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of data engineering experience Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines Experience with SQL Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions Experience with non-relational databases / data stores Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
