Position Summary Join a revolutionary team of Distributed Cloud Data engineering, Analytics, Cloud service specialists to build core data systems, analytics, telemetry, AI / Generative AI powered services at scale in the growing field of multi-cloud SaaS (Software as a Service), Security, and Multi-Cloud Networking solutions. We are looking for a Sr Principal Engineer to join our Data engineering team to accelerate data platform and telemetry missions in the F5 Distributed Cloud Platform Group. As a critical member of the Distributed Cloud Data engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, and development of data systems and data services for F5 SaaS products. Responsibilities Build F5 Distributed Cloud data system and management systems Design and develop data, analytics, AI/Gen AI powered services on SaaS platform Architect telemetry and metrics pipelines and services Collaborate with product, marketing, operations, platform, and customer support teams to create innovative solutions for Cloud and SaaS product delivery Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or equivalent; Graduate degree preferred. Experience levels: Principal (10+ years), Sr Principal (13+ years), Architect (15+ years). Extensive experience in Data Engineering and SaaS products at principal or architect levels Experience with data systems, data services, observability, telemetry architecture for cloud services Proficiency in Cloud service development and programming languages such as GO, Java, Python, C++, Rust, WASM Deep knowledge of data/stream processing (Kafka, PubSub, Dataflow, Vector), databases (ClickHouse, Elasticsearch, StarRocks, BigQuery, Redis) Experience with data-driven, ML/AI, Generative AI applications in security, networking, telemetry, AI/BI, product growth, and engineering productivity Experience with logging, metrics, tracing, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and pipelines Experience with data system quality, monitoring, and performance Experience in SaaS multi-tenancy, onboarding, metering & billing, monitoring & alerting Experience with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Microservices Experience with automation, cloud infrastructure, tooling, workloads, and modern CI/CD practices The annual base pay for this position ranges from $207,279 to $310,919.
