Role: The Data Science Engineer at Nuvia plays a critical role in maintaining, scaling, and improving our data infrastructure and systems. This individual is expected to lead and manage complex data initiatives across teams, ensuring seamless data architecture, high-performance querying, and clean pipelines. Responsibilities: Design, maintain, and optimize data architecture to support business operations and analytics. Write and manage large, efficient SQL queries across varied datasets. Build and maintain Python scripts and pipelines to support data transformations, reporting, and machine learning workflows. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, marketing, and leadership to ensure accurate and accessible data. Monitor data systems to ensure integrity, uptime, and scalability. Implement data best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation. Provide guidance on causality, correlation, and data-driven insights that inform business decisions. Stay current with trends in AI, LLMs, and modern data tools to enhance capabilities. Requirements: U.S.-based and available during standard working hours (with flexibility for cross-team collaboration). 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data science roles or advanced data analytics Advanced proficiency in SQL (required). Basic python knowledge (required) ML/AI understanding should be something you are constantly learning more about Ability to translate data into clear business recommendations. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. Results: Data Integrity and Cleanliness: Datasets used across teams are validated, reliable, and well-documented.
