Job Summary The Design Engineer will work on diverse projects, providing technical leadership. They will represent the firm, interact with clients, contractors, architects, and team members, focusing on innovative and sustainable design. The role requires a self-motivated individual with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with initiative and follow-through. Core Responsibilities Work closely with senior engineers through electrical design and construction administration processes. Create electrical designs with Revit. Conduct analyses to develop design options and recommendations. Assist in planning and designing electrical systems for various commercial facilities. Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and equipment schedules. Propose innovative solutions to design issues. Coordinate project scope, design, and deadlines with project managers and senior engineers. Review submittals and shop drawings, ensuring timely responses. Conduct construction site reviews, feasibility studies, and basis of design reports. Manage tasks to ensure timely completion within budget. Participate in design and construction team meetings. Support and communicate across disciplines, maintaining good relationships with stakeholders. Ensure designs comply with Building/Energy Codes and LEED standards. Implement designs in BIM environments. Perform other duties as assigned. This summary aims to outline the role’s responsibilities and provide structure. Minimum Qualifications 2–4 years’ experience as a Designer or related role. Knowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to implement appropriate changes. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Revit, and engineering analysis software. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Preferred Qualifications MS Office Suite, Building Codes, NEC proficiency. LEED Accreditation. Salary & Location This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA. The salary range is $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Final offer will consider experience, education, and industry knowledge. Other locations may vary.
