Design Engineer
2 Days Old
Our name is inspired by Theodore Roosevelt's 'Citizenship in a Republic' speech, which pays homage to the '(hu)man in the Arena'. To us, entering the Arena means committing oneself fully and accepting the risk of failure in the pursuit of an audacious, worthy cause.
We're a close-knit team of scientists and builders exploring the boundaries of how artificial intelligence can benefit humanity. If you share our passion for delving deep into real-world problems and solving them with fully autonomous AI, join us in the Arena.
What we do
Our collective future is being built in the physical world, but the builders of tomorrow's technology can no longer rely on yesterday's tools. At Arena, we're building the world's first AI industrial engineer designed to solve the most complex hardware and manufacturing challenges. Our product, Atlas, is built with an understanding of the behavior of physical systems, powered by a superior knowledge of core domains of physics. Paired with its ability to reason about multimodal industrial data, Atlas can test, debug, optimize, and repair physical systems and products in the real world. Arena is already trusted by some of the most advanced industrial companies in the world (AMD, Bausch & Lomb), and we're rapidly already scaling into the defense, automotive, and pharmaceuticals industries, and we're just getting started.
About the role
Design Engineers at Arena play a critical role in helping our users harness the power of AI in a way that feels intuitive and integrated into their everyday workflows. In this role, you will seamlessly blend deep design expertise with engineering proficiency to rapidly design, prototype, and implement new product features within the Atlas Platform.
You will
- Design, prototype, and implement new product features for production.
- Rapidly build and iterate on high-quality, functional experiences that align with design intent, using the most appropriate tools and techniques at the right level of fidelity.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure innovative AI techniques and technologies translate into scalable tools, services, and customer experiences.
- Set a higher standard for animation, motion, and craftsmanship in AI experiences.
- Work closely with users, as well as Arena engineers and scientists, to define human-computer interaction in the age of active learning AI.
- An online portfolio showcasing your design and engineering work
- Experience designing, building, shipping, and improving product experiences from start to finish
- Programming experience, especially with React and TypeScript
- Proficiency in CSS and UX motion design
- Expertise in Figma, with familiarity with other design tools like Framer, Principle, etc
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) processes
Requirements
- Willing to work in our office in NYC 5 days a week. Relocation is available for those who need it.
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally to customer locations. This will likely be potentially 25% - 50% of time.
