Program Summary
KBR is looking for a motivated, energetic, and established leader with recent experience on USAF aircraft avionic and mechanical systems. The Subject Matter Expert must be able to handle task specific questions and engage in advanced problem solving for aircraft components. This is an embedded position with the E-3 System Program Office with a potential for some telework.
Job Summary
The Subject Matter Expert will have extensive experience in studies and analysis of USAF aircraft systems. Support customer program office in the execution of aircraft system and component assessments, system implementation plans, systems integration and systems test and evaluation. Aids in developing and implementing strategies to achieve program objectives safely and within agreed time, cost, technical, quality, and other performance criteria. Will work with other DoD contractors and will be the primary customer contact for assigned areas of responsibility. Work will be on specific components of the E-3 aircraft, on-site with the government customer at Tinker AFB with some remote days possible and the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
Roles and Responsibilities
Main focus on support on aircraft avionics; hardware design and integration
Provide support to the E-3 Mechanical Equipment and Subsystems Integrity Program (MECSIP) and Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS)
Provide specific support in weapon systems requirements definitions, development, integration, obsolescence and modernization efforts.
Experienced and successful at solving complex engineering issues, enjoy working in a dynamic, responsive, and collaborative environment, and dedicated to the success of our customer
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Ensure logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints
Clearly articulate recommendations and provide support to the E-3 SPO
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering Field (Systems, Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical) or 6 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree
Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in aviation/aircraft systems work
Demonstrated work on aircraft avionic systems
Familiar with MECSIP and EWIS systems
Active security clearance or the ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
Use of MS Office Suite; specifically, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
Specific USAF aircraft experience; preferably E-3
SPO experience or equivalent experience in commercial realm
Masters’ Degree in technical discipline
Knowledge of Tinker AFB and its mission is a plus
