Your Role:
Our team is seeking an EHS Engineer to assist the Environmental Health & Safety team in creating innovative safety and sustainability programs. The EHS Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, reduce environmental impact, and drive continuous improvement in safety and sustainability performance. - Assist in health & safety program improvement, including but not limited to: laboratory safety, biosafety, hazardous material and PPE assessment, risk assessment, Emergency Action Plan, chemical inventory, SDS management, and Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, environmental impacts, and areas for improvement.
- Participate in site Safety Committees and associated activities/initiatives.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and GEMBA walks in all functional areas with safety team members to identify hazards. Assist Departments to correct hazards as appropriate.
- Assist in company's disaster planning activities including coordinating evacuation drills.
- Participate in accident and injury investigations to determine root cause and prevent future occurrence.
- Conduct, coordinate, and track EHS training and maintain training records.
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainability program across multiple facilities, driving environmental stewardship and resource efficiency initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze safety, health, environmental, and sustainability performance metrics and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other communications to share safety, health, environmental, and sustainability information and progress with internal and external stakeholders.
- Update and maintain hazardous waste manifests and medical waste tracking documents.
- Maintain SDS online chemical management system.
- Track and maintain wastewater requirements enforced by local sanitation district regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections in hazardous waste storage areas to ensure compliance including labeling and storage.
- Participate in activities and initiatives to promote general safety awareness.
- Ensure maintenance of spill kits, first aid kits and AED.
- Perform activities/follow ups related to continuous EHS improvements.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Assist with sustainability frameworks and initiatives such as Ecovadis, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Sciences (Chemical, Environmental, Biotechnology), public health, or engineering preferred.
- 2+ years in Environmental Health and Safety, and Sustainability.
- General knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance programs preferred.
- General knowledge of hazardous materials and chemical management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This role is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. unless otherwise stated by Supervisor. The employee must also, if instructed, have the ability to work overtime and/or weekends when necessary.
Compensation:
We offer competitive compensation packages for this role, including a base salary, performance-based bonuses, and comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
The compensation range for this role is $65,800 - $87,700 annually depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer opportunities for career growth and development as well as a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
In this dynamic role, expect a blend of regular activities like sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional physically engaging tasks such as lifting objects up to 20 pounds. The work environment might expose you to electrical shocks, toxic chemicals, vibrations, or loud noise levels occasionally.
