Electro-Optical Systems Engineer Airborne Sensors (Hybrid)

Our Advanced Electro-Optical (AEO) Systems Engineering group has an upcoming opportunity for a Systems Engineer with expertise in airborne electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting sensor systems. You will be a key contributor joining a dynamic system engineering team on a high-profile program developing the next generation of airborne advanced Electro-Optical systems. Responsibilities will include performing Systems Engineering tasks such as: 1) Writing, reviewing, and managing system and software requirements specification, 2) Preparing Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). You will execute the Integration Verification & Validation (IV&V) content for the E/O system. This role spans from planning activities through system delivery or test demonstration. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.

Required Skills:

Minimum 8 years' experience in Systems Engineering (or a related field such as optical engineering, electrical engineering, applied physics, etc.) with prior E/O systems experience, to include System Modeling; requirement management tools (e.g. DOORS/DOORS Next Gen) with requirements generation and flow down in a connected framework.

Familiarity with software requirements management and specification documents such as Software Requirements Specification (SRS).

Experience developing IV&V procedures based on the test plans, test requirements, final product design and the specific test assets to be use; maintaining and managing external and internal specifications; maintaining and managing a Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM).

Experience verifying configurations of the System under test, test assets, test procedures and reduction/analysis tools are documented and captured; ensuring that all tests are completed in accordance with the contract, test procedures, standard processes, and applicable regulations.

Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills (written, verbal, and presentation) to effectively communicate with all internal / external stakeholders.

An active and in-scope DOD Secret US security clearance is required.

Desired Skills:

Experience in EOIR system and subsystem operation

Experience with MBSE modeling tools (eg Cameo/MagicDraw) and generating SysML diagrams for EO/IR systems

Experience writing software or scripts in multiple languages such as MATLAB, Python, Bash, C++, Java, VBA or Powershell

Agile/Scrum program experience

Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree is a related STEM discipline; a related advanced STEM degree is preferred but not required.
