Job: Energy Modeling Engineer (2+ Years Experience with IES Software)

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Energy Modeling Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in building energy simulations and performance analysis, specifically using IES (Integrated Environmental Solutions) software. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating the energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings by performing energy modeling, energy optimization, and supporting the design of energy-efficient systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed energy modeling, calculations and simulations using IES software (VE) to evaluate building performance in terms of energy consumption, heating, cooling, lighting, and HVAC systems.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to provide energy analysis and recommendations for energy-efficient designs and sustainable building practices.
Prepare energy models for compliance with local and international building energy codes and certification systems (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, etc.).
Conduct daylighting analysis, thermal comfort studies, and HVAC load simulations to support building design optimization.
Provide energy simulations for both new construction projects and retrofits, helping to minimize energy use while maximizing comfort and performance.
Analyze and interpret energy modeling results, generating reports that communicate findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and regulations related to energy modeling and building performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience using IES (Integrated Environmental Solutions) software for energy modeling and building performance simulation.
Strong knowledge of building systems, energy-efficient design principles, HVAC, lighting systems, and sustainable design practices.
Proficiency in energy modeling, simulation, and analysis, particularly for commercial and residential buildings.
Familiarity with local building codes, energy standards, and sustainability certifications (e.g., ASHRAE, LEED, BREEAM, etc.).
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
