Shift timing: Monday – Friday Hybrid (3 days in office and 2 days remote)
Position Summary:
The position will fill a water resources engineer in the client hydro organization. Client owns and operates hydro generating plants across several watersheds. Reservoir management is responsible for the implementation of the overall water control plan of these watersheds which includes operational forecasting, flood control, and drought management. Reservoir operations uses software systems and data from many sources to implement the water control plan: hydrologic equipment and instrumentation, weather forecasts, and historical operational information. A remote network of real-time instrumentation is also maintained by reservoir management personnel and contractors including rain, stage and temperature sensors. Reservoir management also provides watershed modeling using river analysis software. To facilitate these functions, computer systems and a software suite referred to as HOMS (Hydro Optimization Management System) are also operated and maintained by reservoir management. This position will support the hydro reservoir management team with these activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Water resource management which includes hydro operations forecasting, flood control, and drought management
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
Support of the gaging systems and equipment
Programming to support software developed and maintained by reservoir management
Computer model development and configuration
Position Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
Experience: A basic understanding of:
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
Computer model development and configuration
