The purpose of the fastening engineer is: Lead global fastening tooling and standards to support future programs, campaign prevention, and reaction plans for Ford North America Final Assembly manufacturing facilities. Lead program-specific fastening project and strategy during development phase of the program through sourcing and Purchase order issuance. Execute overall fastening strategy, seeing it through to delivery -and- implementation Define, maintain, and update fastening tooling standards Assist in the development of and ensure full alignment on program costing

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications : 5+ years experience with fastening equipment, assembly tooling, or joint design strategy 2+ years experience supporting in-plant tooling and fastening implementation or troubleshooting 2+ years experience working in upfront development (content/SW definition, design revies, supplier development). 2+ years' experience with manufacturing (Plant, VOME, PTME, etc) - preferably accross multiple skill teams Strong interpersonal skills, presentation and communication ability Fastening foundational experience with the ability to both learn and teach Ability to travel and interface with NA Manufacturing plants Preferred Qualifications : Ability to manage multiple projects at once with great attention to detail Knowledge and experience with fastening equipment, assembly equipment, or joint design strategy Experience with Ford Tooling Suppliers – Atlas Copco, Stanley, Ingersoll Rand, Etc.
