Purpose

The Fire Protection Engineer 3 conducts plan reviews of alarm, detection and other fire protection systems in commercial, industrial and residential buildings.

Essential Functions

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in fire protection engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.

2. Three years of experience in fire protection systems, building inspection or a closely related field, working with the International Building Code (IBC), the International Fire Code and the National Fire Protection Association Standards. Relevant experience includes the design, review, installation or inspection of fire protection and life safety systems, along with the administration and enforcement of applicable codes.

3. Possession of the following certifications as a condition of passing the one-year probationary period and maintained throughout employment: 4. 5. Valid driver's license at time of appointment and throughout employment.

Current Salary

The current salary range (Pay Range 7KN) is $87,514-$112,409 annually, and the resident incentive salary range for City of Milwaukee residents is $90,139-$115,781 annually. Appointment above the minimum is possible based upon level of experience and other qualifications and is subject to approval.

Selection Process
