We are seeking a Functional Safety Engineer Lead to help ensure the safety and reliability of our client’s autonomous robotic systems for vehicle control. This is a high-impact role where you’ll lead safety initiatives across the product development lifecycle, working with cross-functional teams to embed safety into every layer of design, development, and validation. Your Role: Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and inclusion across engineering teams. Define and develop functional safety concepts and requirements for autonomous vehicle control systems. Conduct safety analyses including HARA, STPA, FMEA, and FTA. Collaborate with hardware/software teams to integrate safety into system design. Oversee safety verification, validation, and simulation activities. Ensure compliance with ISO 26262, IEC 61508, UL 4600, and other relevant standards. Prepare and maintain safety documentation (plans, cases, reports). Support internal and external safety audits and assessments. Provide technical guidance on functional safety best practices. Stay current with advancements in safety engineering and autonomous technologies. Your Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field. 5–7 years of experience in functional safety engineering (robotics, automotive, heavy machinery, or agri-tech preferred). Certifications such as CFSE, CFSP, AFSP, or Functional Safety Engineer are highly preferred. Experience with safety standards like ISO 26262, ISO 13849, ISO 25119, IEC 61508, or UL 4600. Preferred Skills: Strong understanding of safety-critical system design and analysis. Proficiency in safety methodologies (HARA, STPA, FMEA, FTA). Excellent project management and analytical skills. Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities. Ability to communicate complex safety concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
