Position Summary
Performs asset management and engineering work in support of transmission operations production, construction and/or maintenance functions within Gas Operations. Expectation to be self-directed and proactive to ensure the timely, thorough, and accurate completion of engineering services, work and projects. Performs project management and on-call responsibilities as required. The engineer’s responsibilities contribute to Gas Safety Excellence goals by ensuring the safety, integrity and reliability of the assigned assets.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (Santa Cruz, Salinas, San Jose, Milpitas, Hollister, or Morgan Hill).
Position will require approximately 25% of travel time in work schedule.
Incumbent may be required to have a valid California driver's license on day one of employment
This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.
PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Pay Range:
Bay Area – $122,000 to $173,800
OR
California -$116,000 to $165,000
Job Responsibilities
• Performs engineering work of moderate scope and complexity selecting from different tools, methods, approaches and tactics to resolve problems and obtain solutions
• Establishes solutions or repair methods for moderate to complex asset issues
• Provides engineering and technical solutions by using existing tools, methods, approaches and tactics in new ways or by modifying and improving them
• Leads teams from multiple organizations and/or vendors for repairs, investigations or other efforts
• Works independently under limited direction and guidance and sets own priorities
• Reviews work performed with supervisor upon request
• Has knowledge of applicable principles, codes, regulations, polices, and procedures
• Stand on-call for transmission pipeline or station incidents during off-hours
Qualifications-
Minimum Qualifications:
BS Engineering or equivalent experience
Three (3) years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Engineering in Training (EIT)
Oil or gas experience (transmission) with design, maintenance, construction and/or operations
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Desired Effective written and verbal communication skills
Has a solid understanding of the asset functions including threats and risks for their workstream
Knowledge of applicable engineering principles, codes, regulations, policies and procedures related to the industry and PG&E
Ability to excel independently
Ability to troubleshoot, evaluate and report on outcomes
