Geotechnical Engineer (Senior Level)

Kleinschmidt is looking to grow our geotechnical engineering team with the addition of a Senior Level Geotechnical Engineer. Our geotechnical team loves to work together to solve unique challenges using the team's diverse set of skills. Kleinschmidt focuses on practical solutions with multi-disciplinary teams for renewable energy projects, dam removals, embankment dam repairs, fish passage facilities, recreation facilities, and stream restorations. We are looking for someone to join a dynamic team of professionals working on unique projects across the United States and Canada.
This position is open to candidates in Pacific Northwest, either Portland, Oregon or Redmond, Washington. Our flexibility and core value allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment including working from the office and remotely. This position would require working from the office at least one day per week to coordinate with project teams and mentor staff.
Salary: $125,000-$185,000 (based on experience)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil (concentration in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering) or Geotechnical Engineering
Licensed as a Professional Engineer
10+ years of experience
Enjoys collaborating with clients and co-workers and can integrate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Applies geotechnical engineering skills from feasibility and planning to analysis and design and through to construction
Preferred Qualifications
A Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with concentration in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering
Design and construction experience of embankments, deep and shallow foundation design, temporary excavation support, and embankment condition assessments
Experience performing dam safety, foundation, or construction inspections
Experience in slope stability and seepage analyses, preferably with Slope/W and Seep/W software
Experience developing geotechnical investigation, monitoring and instrumentation programs, and laboratory testing programs
Experience with managing people, projects, and client relationships
Additional Requirements
Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States
Must be willing to travel periodically and possess a valid driver's license
