The Guidewire Billing Center Software Engineer role is an exciting mid-level opportunity for professionals looking to make a substantial impact across multiple systems and the IT division. This position operates autonomously and plays a critical role in design, development, and leading key development initiatives. Salary Range: $84,200.00 - $124,000.00 Salary is commensurate with experience and location. This position is hybrid and can be performed in Springfield, IL, Addison, TX, or remotely. Demonstrated experience in the Guidewire software development lifecycle and project life cycle. Maintain software applications including upgrades, enhancements, and patches. Diagnose and resolve any system-related issues. Ensure optimal application performance, reliability, and quality. Collaborate closely with DevOps to enhance system stability via CI/CD implementations. Drive innovation by researching new and existing technologies, continually asking, 'How can we do it better?' Conduct proofs of concept (POCs) to determine the best path forward with Growth and Run initiatives. Work collaboratively across departments to enhance development capabilities. Create and maintain Enterprise Packages, ensuring they are updated as the environment changes. Provide technical and system consultation on Guidewire applications. Responsible for application analysis, performance tuning, and measurement to meet quality SLAs. Collaborate with the user community to design, develop, and implement technology solutions across various business functions; lead other software engineers in achieving these goals. Mentor and coach junior team members. Advanced development knowledge in applicable programming languages and strong understanding of web design languages, scripting tools, and protocols. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent work experience. 5-7 years of experience in Guidewire Billing Center analysis, development, and testing. Must hold a certification to work with Guidewire Cloud, specifically for the version (Mammoth) implemented at Horace Mann – Guidewire Developer Cloud Certification - Associate Certification - InsuranceSuite 10.0 Developer. Proficient experience in Java, PowerShell, or Apache Camel. Familiarity with tools like Gosu, Postgresql, Azure, GIT, and Cloud Platform components. A minimum of 3 years of experience with medium to complex assignments and structures.
