Head Audio Engineer

The Head Sound Technician shall be employed in all shows and events that require the use of the Stage Department at the 5th Ave theatre in Seattle when STG is Promoting in the space. Events include corporate events, dance, comedy, and musical acts, among others. The responsibilities include working with the Head Carpenter to ensure the safe running and supervising of local crews, assigning crews, and working with other stage departments to complete the needs of the show. Must be able and willing to work with all departments in the theater for non-departmental shows (ie Non-Yellow Card shows) as directed by the Production Manager. This position earns $43/hour and receives benefits as outlined in STG's contract with IATSE Local 15.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned)
•Ability to work with a team in all aspects of interaction (house crew, Local IATSE over hire Crew, Road Crew, and Clients)
•Ability to work with the Head Carpenter with work duties and priorities as assigned.
•Ability to lead a crew of varying sizes.
•Ability to adapt to changing priorities of a show and fluctuating schedule in a positive manner.
•Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted.
•Ability to work a safe and predictable manner under stressful conditions and long hours.
•Ability to be proactive in work assignments and work independently.
•Will be the primary operator of the Front of House mixing console when a show does not bring their own operator.

QUALIFICATIONS
•Must have working knowledge of traditional Sound work and be able to work with and maintain all equipment associated. (ie Sound Consoles, Microphones, speakers, com units, in house A/V equipment.)
•Ability to safely use power and hand tools to complete work assignments.
•Ability to work from and climb an elevated position.
•Demonstrated attention to details.
•Knowledge and ability to run show cues
•A general working knowledge of Stage Carpentry, Props, A/V, and Lighting Equipment
•Speaking additional languages such as Spanish or ASL is a plus

Physical Requirements:

•Vision - corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary.
•Sitting/Standing/Walking - about 80% of the time is spent standing and walking.
