Highway Design Engineer Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Manager is a design professional with 8+ years of experience. This individual will provide project management, client management, and oversight of engineering services on all phases of highway & bridge projects under the supervision of the Department Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Plan, develop, and manage highway & bridge transportation engineering projects for DOT, Agency and County clients.
Provide oversight, guidance and training to technical staff.
Coordinate with a team in order to prepare technical reports and construction drawings.
Maintain strong technical knowledge of design techniques, procedures, regulations, materials and specifications.
Perform independent, complex engineering calculations and prepare construction plans, specifications and estimates.
Ensure client and corporate quality control procedures are followed throughout a project.
Check the work of Engineers and CADD drafters.
Interact with clients and oversee subconsultants.
Assist with new business development activities, attendance at professional society events, and participation in sales presentations.
Lead competitive proposal pursuits in coordination with marketing group
Support the Department Manager in job planning and coordination of multiple technical disciplines.
Provide technical direction and mentor engineering team.
Develop job plans and monitor schedules and budgets.
Review of monthly project invoices prior to submission to clients.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Experience in the design of highway & bridge projects.
Experience on NJDOT, NJTA, PAYNYNJ, PennDOT, PTC projects.
Knowledge in AutoCAD and /or MicroStation
Knowledge of various DEP & stormwater regulations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Strong knowledge of NJDOT, PennDOT, AASHTO bridge design manuals, procedures and software.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED
Professional Engineer (PE) License Required
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions. Work requires frequent and prolonged computer use. May occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

The annual base salary range for this full-time position in the United States is $92,000 - $151,800 . This range represents a good faith estimate and is based on factors such as the role, level, and geographic location. The range shown reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across all U.S. locations.
Within this range, individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including skills, experience, education, and training.
