Job Title: Hydraulic Design Engineer II
Job Description
We are a leading local manufacturer, part of a larger manufacturing parent company, renowned for our excellent reputation and high-quality products. We specialize in manufacturing sewage and vacuum tank trucks for municipalities across the country. We are looking for a Hydraulic Design Engineer II to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Design hydraulic systems for new and/or existing products.
Analyze hydraulic systems to meet pressure, flow, safety, and quality requirements.
Communicate and coordinate with suppliers to develop specifications for products and/or components.
Develop project plans with input from engineering, marketing, and production.
Collaborate with production, manufacturing engineering, lab supervision, marketing, service, and engineering personnel during project implementation.
Prepare and review complete engineering change packages, including BOM investigations for completeness and accuracy.
Utilize departmental CAD system and office software to perform duties according to company standards and procedures.
Coordinate project activity and report progress and status of projects to engineering, marketing, and production.
Participate in the cost reduction process as needed.
Evaluate product or product modifications to determine success in terms of performance and user satisfaction, which may include field visits and/or trade shows.
Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as required.
Essential Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in design and/or engineering.
Experience with mobile equipment, project management, and engineering management.
Proficiency in 2D schematics; AutoCAD experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree.
Good written and oral communication skills.
General computer literacy.
Team-oriented mindset.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Hands-on troubleshooting experience with hydraulic systems.
Experience in hydraulic systems design.
Exposure to hands-on work is a plus.
Work Environment
This position involves working in both an office setting and a troubleshooting bay. The role includes 20 remote days, with an expectation to be onsite 5 days a week. You will often engage with installers and operators, providing variation in problem solving and design requirements. Our team has a high average tenure, and we offer a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.00/hr.
