How You Will Make An Impact
Lead and enforce OSHA 29 CFR 1910, ANSI MH16.1, and NFPA fire code compliance across warehouse infrastructure and storage systems
Provide subject matter expertise in safety planning for racking installations, automation layouts, and high-bay storage environments
Conduct HEART (Hazard Elimination, Aspect, & Risk Transformation) assessments to proactively identify risks in manual and automated workflows
Collaborate on safety integration for automation, including hazard identification, interlock systems, and human-machine separation zones
Serve as safety lead for capital projects and brownfield warehouse transformations, especially during insourcing and vendor-led installations
Partner with engineers to review structural racking plans, warehouse layouts, and mechanical specs from a safety and ergonomics lens
Support continuous improvement in safety procedures, documentation, and safety system design reviews
Are You a Safety Compliance & Automation Rock Star?
Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
Equivalent combination of education and 710 years of direct safety leadership experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting is also considered
Deep knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, ANSI MH16.1, and NFPA codes related to storage and warehouse safety
Proven success in applying safety standards to automation and warehouse design
Experience conducting HEART assessments or similar human reliability and hazard evaluations
Strong hands-on expertise in automation safety integration (e.g., AGVs, AMRs, robotic systems, LOTO, separation zones)
Demonstrated experience supporting brownfield transformation projects and capital project safety planning
Strong technical background to interpret equipment specs, warehouse plans, and engineering documentation
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential is strongly preferred.
