An early-stage robotics startup is creating the foundation for general-purpose robotics by developing the infrastructure that allows anyone, anywhere, to control any robot. This technology will serve as the backbone for next-generation robotics, enabling scalable learning systems and accelerating the shift toward intelligent automation. Were looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who thrives in fast-paced, 01 environments. In this role, youll design and implement critical internal tools ranging from data labeling and annotation systems to scalable data pipelines that directly power advanced robotics development. Youll work closely with research teams and global engineering partners, building out platforms that enable rapid iteration, data compliance, and seamless collaboration across borders.

Job Duties

• Architect and develop internal data platforms, including labeling/annotation systems and data ingestion pipelines.
• Rapidly prototype, test, and refine internal tools based on evolving team needs.
• Collaborate with research, operations, and international engineering teams to deliver robust GUI tools and data infrastructure.
• Establish best practices for infrastructure reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Ensure data governance and compliance with U.S. and international regulations (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
• Serve as a technical bridge between U.S.-based and overseas teams, aligning on product delivery and development culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building or scaling data platforms, internal tools, or annotation systems at AI/ML or data-intensive companies.
• Strong engineering instincts with the ability to build quickly in low-structure, early-stage environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of data governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks for enterprise-grade systems.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally across research, engineering, and operations teams.
• Ability to work effectively with international teams; prior collaboration with China-based engineers is a strong plus.

Preferred Experience

• Background in AI, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• Prior involvement with robotic learning systems or large-scale generative models.
• Comfortable in high-velocity environments where solutions require exploration and iteration.
• A passion for robotics and advancing automation technologies.

Compensation Details

$150,000 - $200,000
