Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries in Essex, VT is seeking an Instrument and Controls Engineer to Deliver Facilities operation & engineering services for the instrument and control equipment supporting facilities.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operates, monitors and maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces facilities electrical and mechanical components that support systems such as mechanical equipment, abatement systems, exhaust systems, chemical and water systems.

• Develops and implements capital improvement projects, such as construction, remodeling, renovation, improvements and maintenance of equipment, including preliminary concept development, detailed engineering design and providing scope of work for bidding.

• Conducts periodic inspections of work in progress and advises construction supervisors and contractors on plans and specifications

• Inspects and maintains existing facilities equipment and prepares reports on the condition, deficiencies observed, designs necessary for repairs and estimated cost of repairs

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements

• Work and collaborate with other projects and/or assignments as needed.

· Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:

· Education – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or, Electrical Engineering Degree.

· Experience - Minimum 2-3 year’s experience field.

· Skills: Proficient in aspects of a technical discipline. Initiative and creativity are limited to fulfilling standard practices related to job responsibilities. Uses standard engineering methods to analyze and resolve problems.

· Travel - Up to 10%

· Fluency in English Language – written & verbal

· Physical Capacity Demands – Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Education – Computer Science / Engineering or, Electrical Engineering Degree.

· Experience - Minimum Years in 3-5 year’s experience field.

· Skills Proficient in aspects of a technical discipline. Initiative and creativity are limited to fulfilling standard practices related to job responsibilities. Uses standard engineering methods to analyze and resolve problems.

· Demonstrated troubleshooting skills / technical aptitude

· Industrial / Commercial System experience

· Understanding of system design parameters, safety / environmental shutdown scenarios, and electronic control of equipment

· Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong planning & organizational skills.

Expected Salary Range

$54,200.00 - $110,300.00
