Job Description
Interface Systems Engineer Onsite (Huntsville, AL)
An organization is seeking an Interface Systems Engineer to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. This is an onsite role in Huntsville, AL.
The C2BMC program integrates the Missile Defense System and is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. C2BMC allows commanders to see the battle collectively and manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems dynamically to achieve global and regional mission objectives. This program also plays a crucial role in all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
This position will be assigned to the C2BMC Systems Engineering Team within SEIT. The Interface Engineer is a Systems Engineer and will occasionally support non-interface systems engineering activities. The Engineer will lead the development of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Documents (IDDs), including establishing new interfaces between external elements such as sensors and other Command and Control Systems. The Engineer will also ensure that the ICDs and IDDs comply with the applicable program standards. Additionally, the Engineer is expected to develop behavioral diagrams to document requirements and create detailed requirements in DOORS to provide clear guidance to implementation teams.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:Develop and update multiple ICDs and IDDs.
Attend interface working group meetings with the MDA customer and representatives from external element engineering organizations.
Support program integration and test efforts related to the interface.
