What to Expect Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start around January 2026 and continue through the Winter/Spring term (ending approximately May 2026) or continuing into Summer 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.
Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
About the Team
The Industrial Engineering Team's primary responsibility is to optimize the manufacturing and material flow process by leveraging a detailed understanding of the factory objectives and collaborating with internal and external teams. This internship presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a world-class manufacturing facility, working in a demanding and fast-paced environment to improve critical subsystems of an exciting product.
The Industrial Engineering intern will support work measurement studies on production equipment, conveyance, and human work for operations and engineering stakeholders. This data will be used to optimize gross margin through capacity improvement and streamline operations. Furthermore, the intern will support layout and space readiness initiatives for existing line optimization and new line installations, including design, and merging new lines and products into existing operations.

What You'll Do Utilization of work measurement to optimize factory and material flow processes
Development of layout and production line alternatives
Decision support through trade-off, scenario, and sensitivity analysis
Conduct work measurement studies for production equipment, conveyance, and human work to optimize operational efficiency and productivity for the engineering stakeholders. Use data to identify value-adding and non-value-adding tasks in operations and streamline processes by providing line-balancing options and eliminating redundant tasks
Conduct capacity studies and static sensitivity analyses to identify factors impacting line throughput (OEE, Headcount, number of material handling equipment) and make recommendations for improvement
What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering or a related field
Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and concepts; plus to showing application of these principles leading to real world results
High comfort level in high expectations environment
Software skills: MySQL, basic Excel, flowcharting software; bonus - 2D/3D CAD, linear programming, simulation, advanced Excel
Previous experience in production control, material flow, manufacturing, process engineering, internal consulting, systems engineering, and/or warehousing

Expected Compensation $20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
