Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications
Stellar Solutions is seeking a Journeyman / Senior Software Systems Architect (SE/Cyber, Engineer) to contribute to the development, integration, and operationalization of advanced software and space-related systems. This role is essential to helping our customers achieve mission success while leveraging your experience to drive technical excellence across software and systems architecture. The ideal candidate will also:
Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams and system owners, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
Create and communicate software system architecture documentation to meet feature requirements.
Guide the program development from prototype through operational fielding with government program management.
Required skills:
5+ years of experience on a space-related Major Defense Acquisition Program (space, ground, software, or hardware).
3+ years of experience in systems engineering.
Experience with conducting or supporting space system Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and System Verification Reviews (SVRs)
Experience with Cloud IL5 and zero trust implementation
Experience communicating technical concepts clearly to users, leaders, security assessors, and engineers.
Familiar with NIST 800-53
Highly motivated, dynamic work ethic, and a strong desire to contribute to the DoD mission.
Ability to create and manage systems-engineering related tasking with minimal program management guidance
Clearance & additional requirements:
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Active Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certificate (such as Security+ or CCNA Security)
Additional desired qualities and compentencies:
10+ years of experience on a space-related Major Defense Acquisition Program.
5+ years of experience in systems engineering.
3+ years of experience cloud system accreditation with the DoD
Experience mapping system requirements to physical and functional architecture and conducting configuration management of system configurations
Experience with the development of technical specifications, interface control documents, integration plans and schedules, inter-service support agreements, system behavior diagrams, sequence diagrams, and network diagrams
Experience with high complexity data systems and data management
Experience with performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space systems
Experience creating documentation for mission partners and eliciting user feedback
Knowledge of DevSecOps and agile software development
Knowledge of Air Force ISP Guide, JCIDS Manual, CJCSI 5123.01G, DODI 8330.01, AFMAN 33-407 and DODAF
Experience managing system delivery through the security accreditation and risk management processes
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word or other web-based collaboration tools
Experience managing technical schedules in Microsoft Project or similar
Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
Knowledge of systems engineering standards, including IEEE 15288.1 and IEEE 15288.2
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently with a strong desire to contribute to the DoD mission
Ability to create and manage systems-engineering related tasking with minimal program management guidance
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP)
TS/SCI clearance
Master's degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
DoD 8570 IAT Level III certificate (such as CCNP Security, CASP, CISA, or CISSP)
Location
This position is full-time, on site in El Segundo, CA or Colorado Springs, CO preferred.
The typical salary range for this position is USD $135,000 - $175,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan and other benefits (all in addition to salary).
Deliverable(s)
Deliverables will be in the format of reports, briefings, spreadsheets, or other documents as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction.
