Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting both internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with ISO and customer standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, IPC 610/620, and J-STD-001. Your role will support documentation control by validating procedures and work instructions for accuracy and relevance. You will apply quality tools like data analysis, root cause investigation, and error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive zero-defect initiatives and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with ISO and customer standards.
  • Support documentation control by validating procedures and work instructions.
  • Apply quality tools such as data analysis, root cause investigation, and error-proofing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive zero-defect initiatives.
  • Participate in CAPA processes and support QMS documentation.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior engineers as part of succession planning.
  • Contribute to the development and rollout of unified compliance training across the organization.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with electronics or electro-mechanical products.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and CAPA.
  • Root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with cable assembly, harness, electrical, PCB, and statistics.
  • Proficiency in SPC, Poka-Yoke, Lean, and Kaizen.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards and continuous improvement processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. Robotics or Integration Engineering degrees also considered.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience (Level II or higher preferred).
  • Experience with electromechanical products, test engineering, or electronics manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ASQ principles.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detective mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Work Environment:

The work environment is that of a Contract Manufacturer, supporting a variety of markets such as medical, military, and semiconductor. This is a great company for engineering students from tech schools interested in electronics.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $95000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
