The Software Development Engineer on the ART19 team will be responsible for improving and building tools and applications within the podcast ecosystem, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions. Responsibilities: Use technology to solve complex problems across the podcast ecosystem. Collaborate with team members and other teams. Improve and develop new tools, services, and applications. Take a business problem from conception to deployment, ensuring high code quality and craftsmanship. Deliver projects on schedule using current software engineering best practices. Engage with stakeholders on planning and communication of project deliverables. Participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot, research root causes, and resolve defects while maintaining communication with stakeholders and customers.
Qualifications: Required: 2+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship). 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling). Experience programming with at least one software language.
Preferred: Fluency in Ruby on Rails and RubyGems. Experience with automated testing using RSpec. Experience with Active Record and data modeling. Experience building and scaling RESTful APIs and familiarity with JSON:API. Proficiency with Git for version control. Knowledge of patterns such as MVC, Mocking, OOP. Excellent communication skills and collaboration with product and design teams. Interest in staying updated with the latest technologies and best practices. Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, and AWS services.
