L6 Specilized Software Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Specilized Software Engineer. In this role, the Software Engineer will be instrumental in resolving critical system issues, including the persistent 2Heavy errors that impact customer-facing applications. The engineer will ensure compliance with SIDS/STARS aviation standards and continue development of Neo data components, contingent on budget alignment. They will also complete high-priority software initiatives previously led by a retiring team member, ensuring continuity and quality. A key part of the role involves pairing with senior engineers for effective knowledge transfer and mentoring newly onboarded Aero Performance Engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
This role will pay $170/hour.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. 15+ years of experience in software development, preferably in aerospace or aviation systems. Strong understanding of flight data, performance modeling, and aviation compliance standards. Experience with error resolution in mission-critical systems. Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Familiarity with SIDS/STARS procedures and FAA compliance. Experience with Neo4j or similar data platforms. Background in paired programming and agile development. Prior work in customer-facing aviation software.
