Chemours is seeking a Lead Applications Engineer in AI Solutions to join our growing AI & Data Science team. This position is hybrid, allowing for remote work, but will primarily be based in Wilmington, DE, and will report directly to the Head of Data Science & AI. The ideal candidate is an experienced full-stack software engineer with a solid history in designing and deploying applications (both internal and external) and Generative AI solutions. You will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have a continuous desire to learn. This role involves extensive engagement with stakeholders and end-users throughout the development process, requiring alignment with Eastern Time Zone work hours. Key Responsibilities: Design, architect, implement, and productionize applications for traditional software and Generative AI use cases. Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure an intuitive, high-quality user experience. Lead impactful initiatives across various business functions, including Manufacturing, Legal, Finance, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sales. Identify, design, and integrate Generative AI solutions into existing workflows to deliver measurable value. Define product direction for assigned solutions, including roadmap creation, backlog prioritization, and release planning. Mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration. Coordinate with related teams (e.g., Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Data Engineering, Office 365) for approvals, architecture, and security & governance reviews. Address technical debt and develop scalable, reusable architectures that comply with security and compliance standards. Organize and facilitate user workshops to identify high-return use cases. Manage the full lifecycle of deployed applications, including debugging, enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvements driven by user feedback. Success in this role will be measured by: The volume and speed of high-impact applications deployed. The quality of user experience and code, assessed through user feedback, ROI, and usage metrics. The cost and time efficiency of solution development and maintenance. The reusability and scalability of the solutions and codebase across diverse applications. The frequency and effectiveness of support provided to enhance the team's technical output (e.g., via peer programming, debugging assistance, mentoring). Requirements: A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in building enterprise-grade applications, preferably using Microsoft Azure tools (such as Azure Fabric, Azure AI Foundry). At least 5 years of advanced backend development experience with Python. 5 years of advanced backend development experience with JavaScript. A minimum of 4 years of UI and frontend development experience using React.js, Typescript, and HTML. At least 2 years of experience in designing, coding, and deploying custom Generative AI GPTs and multi-agent systems in production (using Python). Exceptional English communication skills, especially with non-technical users; proven ability to convert user needs into technical specifications while keeping stakeholders informed. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in designing and launching advanced multi-agent GenAI agents. Familiarity with PyTorch, including training and fine-tuning pre-trained models, and enhancing model performance with task-specific data. Strong background in building and managing CI/CD pipelines for AI and software systems in Azure, including automated testing and secure releases. A passion for staying updated with advancements in AI and machine learning, with the capability to implement new research and techniques into practical solutions. Experience with Azure Kubernetes. Pay Range: $126,067.00 - $196,980.00 Chemours Level: 27 Annual Bonus Target: 14% The pay range provided is a general guideline based on the primary location of this job and is not a guarantee of total compensation.
