Responsibilities As the Lead Data Engineer on our research and development team, you will play a pivotal role in crafting analytics that will drive our next-generation electronic health record insights platform. You will leverage data from Oracle Health's latest electronic health record and integrated clinical AI agents to create scalable data pipelines and services, enabling real-time and batch analytics. This is your chance to influence how global healthcare providers utilize advanced analytics and AI to improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiency. In this role, you will: Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines and cloud-based solutions for data aggregation, normalization, and analysis from diverse clinical and operational sources.
Mentor a talented team of data architects.
Deliver critical components of a modern, AI-powered data platform within Oracle Health Advance.
Develop and maintain data infrastructure, APIs, and services to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance analytics in a cloud-native environment.
Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and health domain experts to enable advanced visualizations and actionable insights.
Make key architectural decisions and select technologies that ensure the platform's extensibility, maintainability, and security.
Use your expertise in modern programming languages (Python or similar), distributed data processing (like Spark), SQL databases, and cloud computing.
Integrate LLMs throughout our data processing stack and customer-facing UI.
Adopt DevOps practices, automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code to ensure smooth data operations.
Effectively communicate architectural decisions and technical progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in building and maintaining scalable data platforms, distributed systems, or enterprise analytics solutions.
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Deep expertise in object-oriented programming (Python or similar) and data structures.
Experience with modern data frameworks like Spark, Hadoop, or Hive.
Strong skills in advanced SQL on large-scale columnar databases (e.g., HP Vertica or Oracle ADW).
Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, OCI Data Flows, and OCI Data Integration.
Proven success in optimizing data architectures for high performance, security, and reliability.
Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers in an agile environment.
Understanding of AI/ML model integration and modern API design (RESTful, GraphQL, etc.).
Knowledge of DevOps technologies for deploying solutions on cloud infrastructures.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
