Lead Software Development Engineer

The Discovery Partners Institute, located in Chicago, a large metro area, is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to assist the department with the following responsibilities:
Under direction and supervision, utilize knowledge of software development and computer science to create frontend and back-end scalable technology-based platforms and build technology-based R&D products and services. Collaborate with external software development firms, lead a team of software engineers, drive R&D technology development, and improve functionality of technology solutions. Implement data and analytics platforms, deliver quality software code, and maintain knowledge of effective software tooling to facilitate technology-based R&D products and services. Act as a resource for internal and external stakeholders by providing guidance on the integration of technology-based solutions. Other duties as assigned. This is a full time academic professional position. The budgeted salary range for this position is $160,000 to $165,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. This position minimally requires a Bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and, 8 years of related work experience in software development.
