Fuel Linux Engineer (Expert), McLean Fuel is looking for a Linux Engineer to join our growing team. Duties may include: Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to ensure 24x7x365 uptime Design and implement systems administration solutions for various projects and operational needs Apply best practices for managing systems and services across all environments Perform fault analysis and log review for performance reporting Monitor system performance and plan capacity accordingly Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades and patches on servers and workstations Create and modify scripts or applications to automate tasks Suggest improvements to enhance stability, security, efficiency, and scalability Collaborate with team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes Skills and Experience: Proficiency in building and optimizing Linux servers Ability to perform root cause analysis on processes and data Strong troubleshooting skills for Linux systems Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chef) Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Bachelor’s degree in information systems, informatics, statistics, or computer science/software engineering At least five years of experience with: Linux distributions like RedHat, CentOS Configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef Terraform and auto-deploy software Databases like MySQL, Elasticsearch Platforms such as VMware and AWS Scripting in Shell and/or Python Protocols including DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP Additional Linux certifications (RHCE, LPIC) are a plus.
