In this role, you will support the mechanical engineering efforts related to automated assembly systems, with a strong focus on mechanical design changes, technical documentation, and hands-on support throughout the build and assembly process.    Manufacturing Engineer 2 Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and implement mechanical design changes to improve manufacturability, reduce cost, or enhance machine performance  Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, electrical, controls, and assembly) to support the end-to-end system build process  Generate and maintain design documentation including assembly drawings, part details, BOMs, and test plans  Provide technical support on the shop floor during mechanical assembly, integration, and testing of automation systems  Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for mechanical issues during build and debug  Support machine commissioning, including system validation and buy-off activities, both in-house and occasionally at customer sites  Manage multiple engineering tasks and priorities while meeting project timelines and quality standards  Interface with suppliers and vendors for custom components and outsourced machining  Mentor junior engineers and assist with onboarding and training of new team members  Collaborate in design reviews, project meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives  Assist with updates to technical manuals and documentation for final system delivery  Ensure all designs and activities comply with safety standards, ISO procedures, and customer requirements    Manufacturing Engineer 2 Job Qualifications:   Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required  3–10 years of experience in mechanical or automation engineering within a manufacturing environment  Proven experience supporting the design and build of complex automated or electromechanical systems  Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), and solid understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM)  Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, precision assemblies, pneumatics, and sensors  Familiarity with machine safety standards and industrial automation best practices  Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions  Experience working within an ERP or MRP system  Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)  Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and mechanical drafting standards  Understanding of machining and fabrication practices, including the ability to interpret drawings  Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams  Ability to travel occasionally to support customer installations and field service needs  Must be physically able to work in a production environment (lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, standing, etc.)  Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE    Must be a United States citizen to meet requirements for certain customer projects Benefits: 401(k) matching Health insurance Dental insurance Short- and long-term disability Life insurance Paid time off Paid parental leave Company paid holidays ESOP Tuition reimbursement Powered by JazzHR
