Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) team, supporting the Chemical Vapour Infiltration (CVI) process. This role focuses on scaling, optimizing, and sustaining high-temperature composite manufacturing used in next-generation aerospace applications. The successful candidate will drive process improvements, root cause investigations, and production readiness of CVI-related operations.

What You Will Be Doing:
Process Development & Optimization
Support and improve CVI process parameters, cycle times, and product quality.
Collaborate with materials, R&D, and design teams to transition new products from development to manufacturing.
Define and implement process controls and lean manufacturing principles.
Production Support
Provide day-to-day technical support to CVI operations to resolve production issues.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, throughput, and cycle time.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for non-conformances.
Documentation & Compliance
Author and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), manufacturing instructions, and process documentation.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to high-temperature and reactive gas processes. Rigorously raise, investigate and resolve safety related issues.
Equipment & Facility Interface
Support maintenance and upgrades of CVI furnaces and related process equipment.
Participate in commissioning of new tools and process lines.
Continuous Improvement
Utilize Six Sigma, 5S, PFMEA, and other quality tools to identify and execute process improvements.
Contribute to cost reduction initiatives and capacity expansion planning. Responsible for self-development to meet the required competencies for the role. Continuously seek to expand knowledge and experience to increase effectiveness in undertaking existing and new activities.
Who We’re Looking For:
Basic Requirements
Associate’s degree in Engineering with 4 years of engineering experience, OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2 years of engineering experience, OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, OR
PhD in Science, Technology or Engineering, OR
In lieu of a degree 6 years of engineering experience
To be considered for this opportunity, you must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred
Experience with the manufacture of Ceramic Matrix Composite Components or Aerospace Components with coating operations.
Knowledge of Vacuum Furnace operating principles and hardware
Knowledge of PSM and how to implement
Knowledge of gas supply and flow rate control / verification
Knowledge of piping and instrumentation diagram creation / interpretation
Experience with logic-based control systems
Experience with Mass Flow Controllers, Thermocouples, Vacuum Pumps, PH Probes.
Experience with Control of Hazardous / Explosive Gases and Chemical Scrubbers for treatment of exhaust furnace waste
Experience with the FAT/SAT process and the validation of new equipment for use in production
Experience with the manufacture of Ceramic Matrix Composite Components or Aerospace Components with coating operations
