Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Manufacturing Engineer III to join our team at ONICON . The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining, implementing, and supporting manufacturing processes that meet design requirements. They will also provide day-to-day support to the operations team to ensure quality, cost, and operational goals are met. The candidate shall have a firm understanding on Lean Principles such as the 8 Wastes of Manufacturing, 6S, Push/Pull Systems, WIP Management, and FMEA.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Utilize Lean Principles and Practices to design, improve, and change processes.
Organize time studies to develop Standard Work, Line Balance Reports, and Combination Workflow Charts.
Work closely with IT, Product Management, Operations, and Engineering when designing and implementing production processes.
Develop Work Instructions, Repair Guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other documentation necessary to manufacture and maintain flow in production.
Build consensus on difficult decisions amongst a diverse group of production operators and leaders.
Implement quality and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for existing and new products to ensure processes stay under control and within limits.
Develop Reaction Plans for operations to follow when limits are breached to maintain on-time delivery, quality control, and cost.
Provide sustainment support to the operations team on Quality Alerts, Process Deviations, basic PC troubleshooting, and other various low-level fixes. Escalate appropriately when necessary.
Work closely with Quality Management and Purchasing on First Article Inspections, Quality Gates, Corrective/Preventative Actions, and Vendor compliance on incoming parts.
Knowledge and Skills Requirement:
Expert level Microsoft Excel skills
VBA Troubleshooting Experience
Ability to generate KPI reports with available reporting tools (Microsoft PowerBI)
Understanding of Metric Verbiage such as Correlation Coefficient, Standard Deviation, Rolling Average, Throughput, and First Pass Yield
Great communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to Train Complex Processes
Excellent Time Management Skills
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical preferred) or Hard Science (Math, Physics, or Chemistry preferred)
3+ years work experience in Manufacturing
1+ years experience in metrology or data analysis
