Position Summary
A stable, long-standing manufacturing company is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support production operations and drive process improvements. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer (0–3 years of experience) who enjoys working hands-on in a plant environment, collaborating with production teams, collecting and analyzing data, and helping to implement practical solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Support production by identifying, tracking, and resolving process issues.
Work closely with Production Team Leaders and operators to collect data, build issue lists, and develop countermeasures.
Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) , scrap rates, and downtime reports to target areas for improvement.
Prepare reports summarizing findings and present recommendations to production, quality, and engineering teams.
Follow up on countermeasures and improvement activities to ensure effectiveness.
Assist with and maintain process documentation including control plans, FMEAs, work standards, and check sheets.
Participate in continuous improvement activities aligned with company objectives.
Promote compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards, as well as all company safety and environmental policies.
Support and improve 5C (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain + Safety) activities in assigned areas.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, management, peers, and suppliers to support plant initiatives.
Assist with additional engineering and process improvement projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a production-related field.
0–3 years of manufacturing or engineering experience (internship or co-op experience acceptable).
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred/Nice-to-Have: Exposure to PLCs or industrial automation systems.
Familiarity with manufacturing quality tools (FMEA, control plans, work standards).
Experience with ERP systems.
Prior experience in process improvement, continuous improvement, or lean manufacturing initiatives.
