DESCRIPTION
A Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Some of the duties a Manufacturing Engineers have while being responsible for running and maintaining a company’s manufacturing process include: Processing worklog parts through the internal systems via prioritized list provided by manufacturing leadership Reviewing and releasing fabrication designs to the shop floor Reporting worklog tracking status updates daily to operations leadership Support quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control. Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process. Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations. Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making. Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency. Serve as a liaison between the engineering team and the manufacturing team. Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts to simplify and improve processes and ensure best practices Create and maintain required documentation for manufacturing processes, including flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insights and direction Other Skills and Abilities: Deadline-oriented In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles Ability to collaborate with program managers, manufacturing leads, customers, and functional leads, and to provide daily direction and guidance to junior associates Demonstrates a strong commitment to the company’s social and environmental mission by promoting sustainable practices, fostering an inclusive work environment, and consistently prioritizing health and safety in all aspects of their role. Computer literacy Working knowledge of manufacturing processes. Strong interpersonal skills. Good verbal and written skills. Proven organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands. Experience with pipe fitting, metal fabrication or welding is preferred.

EDUCATION
Manufacturing Engineers need to have a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering or mechanical engineering.
