:
This is a projects-centered role focused on process improvement in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment. Many types of manufacturing exist at PCC Fluid Fittings; core amongst these are machining, forging, painting, assembly, and heat treatment. Competencies required of the candidate include good critical and out-of-the-box thinking abilities, a hands-on approach to problems and processes, good attention to detail, quick learning, and the employment of excellent time-management practices.
In this role, the candidate should expect to lead significant capital, lean/six-sigma, and process improvement projects. This includes managing the project’s budget, developing and driving action-items necessary to achieve the project’s goals, coordinating necessary resources (both internal and external), and taking lead on all other aspects of the project. Lastly, the candidate must be able to effectively report on their project(s) status and financial impact to management team.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Support, mentor, develop, lead, and act as a role model for entry-level Manufacturing Engineers on projects, tasks, initiatives, and personal improvements. This includes; Assistance in the development and maintenance of action items lists and project plansAssistance in the development of fundamental time and project management techniquesFacilitation of developing project-centered skills such as Root-cause analysis, team report-outs, presentations, and basic shop-floor improvement projects
Define and maintain a project pipeline of future opportunities for the business. This includes productivity improvement projects, cost-down initiatives, quality improvement projects, and safety projects.
Examples include lean/Kaizen initiatives, capital investments, six sigma projects, root-cause analysis, project management, and time management.
Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams of engineers, area managers/supervisors, programmers, and shop-floor personnel in both tactical and strategic continuous improvement projects. Types of projects and skills that will need deployment include: Lean/Kaizen and 5S projectsImplementation of key concepts, such as Kanban, SMED, standard work, scheduled work-flow, Value Stream Maps, etc.Six SigmaCapital Project Management
Support the plant through the performance of: Creation and management of bills of materials and manufacturing routingsManagement of CNC Programs for use in both Tooling and Fitting manufactureCreation and management of manufacturing Work Instructions (DWIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Creation and revision of forging dies, CNC tooling, CNC holding fixtures, and custom gagesCreation and revision of low-level drawings to support multi-set up operationsManagement of the Statistical Process Control system in use by shop-floor personnel
Planning, facilitating, and driving of tactical projects throughout the plant. This includes and coordination or acquisition of resources to support these projects to meet corporate targets. This role includes actions such as: Creation, submittal, and management of CAPEXs for the purposes of new equipment acquisitions, equipment overhauls, and new product or process integrationsCoordination of equipment installations, including layouts, managing vendors and contractors, supporting subordinates, and financial budget managementManagement of the project pipeline with monthly escalation to corporate for reviewPersonnel management to achieve corporate goals
Identifying financial savings and supporting the various continuous improvement activities throughout the plant, including: Cost-control projects such as consumable CNC tooling, raw materials usage in product manufacture, and variable costs including labor and overhead costsProcess improvements through the use of both new and existing tools; including Lean, Six Sigma, the Kaizen approach, A3 problem solving, and Root-cause problem solving
Supporting various quality assurance and improvement initiatives from the standpoint of manufacturing processes, technologies, and Methods Engineering practices. This includes investigations related to internal discrepancies, customer corrective actions and returns, and in the application of both product and process knowledge
Support the management of New Product Integration with respect to the manufacturability, process control, equipment capability, supporting personnel requirements, and the completion of data (i.e. BOM, RTR, etc.) setup in ERP
Act as the subject matter expert for PCC senior management relative to Permaswage’s processes, core manufacturing competencies, and identified opportunities for future improvements
Create and make high-level presentations of both information and data to persons both internal and external of the organization, and be able to answer detailed questions pertaining to information

Qualifications:
Required:
Ability to communicate and perform all critical tasks as outlined herein in English, at a high level
Ability to interpret and create Engineering drawings per AS4296 and ASME Y14.5M-2009
Ability to interpret, analyze, and draw conclusions from complex data
Ability to interpret technical procedures and governmental or inter-organizational regulations
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
High comfort level with ERP systems
High level of emotional intelligence when working with a variety of different individuals, including customers, vendors/suppliers, consultants, PCC Senior management, and shop-floor employees
A basic understanding of project financials, product/process costing, and cost analysis
A high-level of reasoning and problem solving ability
Desired:
A minimum of a four-year degree in an Engineering discipline
3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in an Aerospace or similar manufacturing environment
A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes; including CNC technologies, forming/forging processes, painting/coating processes, ERP system interactions, and chemical surface-treatments
A track-record of successful high-impact projects, including new equipment installations, Lean/Six-Sigma projects, Kaizens, and RCCAs
Extensive project management and team management experience
Elevated skill level with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio/Process Flow Diagrams, and MS Project
Experience with Engineering modeling and drawing software, such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, CATIA, ProE, or similar
Proficient in speaking Spanish
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $85,300 to $127,900 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
