Manufacturing Engineer - NPI
Summary
The Fi Company is looking for a manufacturing engineer to oversee and improve our manufacturing processes and repeatability in a light manufacturing/assembly environment. The manufacturing engineer's responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing and implementing processes.
To be successful as a manufacturing engineer you should be able to work effectively within a team and collaborate with production staff to implement process, trouble shoot any production issues and ensure that new product activities are completed. An outstanding manufacturing engineer should be able to develop and optimize processes for maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement
• Determining problem resolutions and implementing improvements
• Developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow
• Review and develop packaging standards for
• Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products.
• Developing and implementing cost-saving measures and quality control systems
• Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations
• Maintaining research and activity documentation and preparing reports
• Perform routine Engineering BOM vs. actual build audits
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Purchasing, Inventory, Sales, Production, IT and QA teams to ensure data integrity.
• Mentor new coworkers and other departments
• Assists on other NPI activities as needed
Education & Experience
• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or similar
• Must have 2 or more years of experience production or integration environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• SolidWorks' experience including surfaces, sheet metal and injection molded component/assembly development
• Creating BOM's, detailed component and assembly drawings
• Engineering Change Order (ECO) process flow and implementation
• Basic understanding of electro-mechanical engineering
• Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with other engineers, customers, and businesses partners
• Hands-on experience building prototypes
• Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing
• Ability to collaborate with development Engineering, Project Managers, Manufacturing Leads, and Customers
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
• This position requires a proactive and problem-solving mindset, and the ability to pro-actively tackle challenges while managing details in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Work Environment & Physical Demands
