You will be the Manufacturing Robotics Automation Engineer, Staff for the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies team. Our team is tasked with the manufacturing automation and robotics for Missiles and Fire Control.

What you will be doing:

As the Manufacturing Robotics Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for providing manufacturing design guidelines in early product development cycles to ensure integration of automated solutions during manufacturing phases. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and participating in the design, fabrication, assembly, validation, and deployment of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems that includes automated components such as robots, conveyors, vision systems and programmable controllers.
  • Hands-on integration of robotics, end of arm tools (EOATs), and existing systems and machines.
  • Working with engineering and manufacturing roles to understand requirements and manufacturing processes for which automation tools can be developed and deployed.
  • Capital planning and execution, vendor/integrator engagement, and project management activities to deploy automated solutions at multiple sites across MFC. Approximately 10% travel may be required to facilitate multi-site automation projects.

This position is located in Grand Prairie, TX.

Must be a U.S. citizen - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of 9 years of hands-on experience in robotics automation and integration projects.
  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Python, C++, or similar programming experience.
  • Experience with industrial and collaborative robots such as FANUC or equivalent.
  • Experience with automation controls systems design & assembly, such as PLC/HMI interfaces.
  • Understanding of facilitation needs for robotics.

Desired skills:

  • Skilled in robotic simulation using tools such as Visual Components, Roboguide, RoboDK, or equivalent.
  • Experience integrating EOAT through I/O architecture in automated/robotic systems.
  • Skilled in mechanical simulation and visualization using CREO/Solidworks/Polyworks or similar platform.
  • Experienced with robotic integration of metrology tools such as structured light scanners.
  • Experience leveraging vision systems for robot guidance.
  • Ability to develop and communicate larger automation strategy across multiple product lines excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated discipline in executing multi-functional projects with competing constraints.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This position is full-time and located onsite in Grand Prairie, TX. Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.

Pay rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. For most major metropolitan areas in California and New York, the salary range is $120,100 - $208,150. Benefits offered include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. This position is incentive plan eligible.
