About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Robotics Engineer to join our team at a leading defense contractor. This mid-to-senior level role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in robotics, automation, and controls, particularly in high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement robotic automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
Program and integrate Fanuc and Epson robots with existing systems using PLC programming.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and drive process improvements.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for robotic systems and workflows.
Optimize production lines to maximize uptime, throughput, and quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, implementing continuous improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in robotics or automation engineering, with a focus on high-volume, low-mix manufacturing.
Proficiency in PLC programming and industrial robot integration (Fanuc and Epson preferred).
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
Experience with machine tending and automating manual stations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Experience with additional industrial robots and automation platforms.
Demonstrated success in increasing manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
