Manufacturing Test Infrastructure Engineer

As a Manufacturing Test Infrastructure Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for the design, procurement, deployment, and maintenance of test infrastructure. You will be tasked with understanding test infrastructure hardware requirements, capacity modeling, managing deployment schedules, managing test development budgets, and overall execution/sustaining of test infrastructure across our global EMS partners. You will be well-versed in the CM/EMS/DF/FA manufacturing environments, write automation scripts, and use configuration management tools to ensure product test infrastructure are designed, developed, and deployed on time into our partner factories.

Design, procure, provision, and deploy manufacturing test infrastructure to local and global EMS partners. Troubleshoot, fix, replace equipment that breaks in our EMS production environment. Automate mass provisioning of servers and test equipment. Linux environment system administration - operating system installation, rpm package deployment, OS services configuration (DHCP, mysqld, yum, httpd, samba, ftp, sshd). Create CLI and web based tools for EMS partners as well as Mfg team to optimize the manufacturing test process. Design and implement efficient test data processing and visualization techniques. Implement diagnostic tools to support benchmarking and characterization of test equipment hardware and production test network.

Skills and Requirements Key Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python and/or Bash scripting.
  • Experience in both low-level operating system functionality (e.g. memory/IO/Disk/CPU/resource management/RAID) as well as high-level application level Linux software.
  • Knowledge of computer networks (TCP/IP), protocols, SNMP. Ability to troubleshoot and debug network issues.
  • Ability to read hardware spec and data sheets
  • Experience with manufacturing and provisioning processes for test equipment.
  • Experience with training and working with EMS contract manufacturers.
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams such as IT, Buyer, Program Manager, NPI, Mfg Test, Diagnostic teams from both within the organization as well as the corresponding teams of our EMS partners.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Saltstack and Ansible a plus.
  • Proficiency in front-end web development such as Django and SQL database experience a plus.
