Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Project Engineer with an HVAC background to support the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical construction projects. In this role, you’ll work closely with Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers to meet project milestones and deliverables across various phases of construction. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and looking to grow within the mechanical contracting industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Sr. Project Engineers and Project Managers with day-to-day project management tasks.

  • Support the successful execution of projects in alignment with approved budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

  • Manage and assemble key project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, specifications, change orders, and purchase orders.

  • Coordinate material deliveries and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion of deliverables.

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously at different stages of construction.

  • Contribute to budget tracking, manpower planning, and procurement coordination.

  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams, including general contractors, field staff, vendors, and union labor.

  • Support compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and project procedures.

  • Provide general project support as directed by senior staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in mechanical or HVAC-related project engineering.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly communicate with clients, engineers, detailers, and field personnel.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Bluebeam.

  • Willingness to learn project management platforms such as Procore, Trimble, PlanGrid, or other contractor-specific software.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.

  • Professional demeanor with a positive attitude and a strong sense of accountability.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards.

  • Must be able to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

  • Occasional visits to job sites may be required.
