Mechatronics Engineer

This position is an on-site position located in Tampa, FL at MacDill AFB.
General Job Duties:
- Design, prototype, and integrate electromechanical systems including robotics, automation platforms, and custom test equipment.
- Create CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks, NX, or similar platforms.
- Manage end-to-end system design processes, including FEA, thermal analysis, and systems integration.
- Apply additive manufacturing techniques for prototyping and production of precision components.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers.
- Conduct failure analysis, system performance evaluations, and reliability testing using various tools and methodologies.
- Lead or support technical presentations, system documentation, and design reviews.
Desired Requirements:
- Experience with electromechanical systems design, including motors, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing (SLA, SLS, PLA), and CNC machining.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, high-power electronics, and PCB design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex engineering projects.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA) and experience in GD&T.
- This role may require occasional travel (10%) for project collaboration and system deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance.
- Work may involve exposure to secure environments and proprietary technologies.
