Exciting Principal Enterprise Architect opportunity with our client, one of the largest utilities companies in the United States.
Contract Duration: 6 Months through the end of the year may extend.
This is a hybrid role with Monday, Thursday, and Friday remote Tuesday and Wednesday onsite in our clients offices in Columbus, OH.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of relevant enterprise-wide architecture experience, including Application / DevSecOps technologies.
Deep understanding of Application / DevSecOps capabilities.
Experience in leading and mentoring architects within and across teams.
Experience with on-premise solutions and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
Technologies: Concourse, Copado, Copilot, Docker, Gearset, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Postman, Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, Sonar.
Domain Capabilities: AI/ML, API Gateway & Management, Application Components, Development Tools, DevSecOps, GenAI, Integration, Intelligent Automation, Runtime Environments, Security.
Strong knowledge of API-first design, and skills across multiple IT domains (application, data, infrastructure, security).
Excellent consultative skills at a cross-functional level, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and LeanIX, and knowledge of TOGAF, ITIL frameworks.
Experience in application development, systems management, or project management is advantageous.
Leadership competencies include organizing, prioritizing, managing work, fostering relationships, continuous improvement, motivating others, and self-management.
What You Will Be Doing Description: Reporting to the Head of Architecture, the Principal Enterprise Architect collaborates with Application Development, Infrastructure, Security, Data & Analytics, and PMO teams to provide architecture leadership.
The candidate should have deep expertise in DevSecOps, APIs, and application lifecycle management to develop architecture vision, strategy, and roadmaps. Responsibilities include translating business needs into architecture, establishing standards, building consensus, and guiding solution development.
Essential Functions Provide senior guidance on enterprise architecture to support business strategies.
Engage with business and IT leaders, vendors, and industry experts to create architecture blueprints and high-level design solutions.
Proactively define future project directions, assess technology investments, and help teams understand implications.
Review and advise on software/hardware builds, system options, risks, costs, and impacts on business processes.
Lead architectural governance processes, including review boards and exception management.
Research and propose solutions aligned with business and technological strategies, tracking industry trends.
